Urgent request for prayer!!
Dear Praying Friends
Margaret has been feeling very tired and unwell for a number of weeks and went to the doctors for some tests. They kept her there all day and diagnosed malaria. She has been given a lot of medication and told to rest. Gilbert began to display similar more severe symptoms and was taken to Hospital where malaria was also diagnosed. He has been kept in hospital and is on a drip. If undetected, malaria can be fatal, so at least it has been diagnosed and can be treated. Please pray for a speedy recovery and that Gilbert would get out of hospital very soon.

Bishop John UPDATE
I was speaking to Bishop John today. He said he is being assisted to use crutches to enable him to walk. He is expecting to be released this week from hospital. Normally the hospital do not discharge a patient until the account is cleared.
The account stands at approx 1.5 million Kenyan shillings which is about £12,500 stg. God's servant will need a miracle for this account to be cleared. I am asking you to pray for him & his family in these difficult circumstances.
John's wife Glady's has reached full term & is due to give birth any day now.....this will also cost money re hospital.
Bishop John is very grateful for your prayer support. He told me today that 2 others were killed at the same place as his accident a few days before his incident. He is thanking God to be alive. God has a good plan for his life & ministry.
Gilbert & Margaret Egerton.
alert prayer partners re this colsting development. Gilbert.
Dear All,
As some of you might be aware, kindly be informed that bishop John had a traffic accident on 15 May 2010 and he is at Nairobi Hospital (St George ward). He sustained a broken thigh bone. He had an operation on 16th may 2010 in the same hospital and he is recovering well.
Currently the total hospital bill is estimated to be Kshs 1.5 million. The family of the bishop is appealing for help to offset this bill. You might want to contact the wife of the bishop to encourage her on the same; the cell phone number is +254 0721 88 32 43.
Please help with prayers for his quick recovery and/or finance to offset this bill as God will enable you.
Regards and thank you,
David.
New Arrival
Margaret & I would like you to rejoice with us in the safe arrival of our first grandchild..... Thomas Matthew Egerton.

Baby Tom as he is called, was born to our son Andrew & his beautiful wife Ann. He arrived on 2nd May 2010 & weighed in at 7.5 lbs. Please pray for the the happy parents as they adjust to their new status with all its challenges.
Now that Margaret & I are grandparents it would not be inappropriate to double up your prayer support for us as this new status conveys its own message regarding our stage in life with our ever-growing ministry in in Africa for the King & His Kingdom. These are days of unprecedented opportunity.

Sponsored Children in Kissi-Western Kenya
Dear Dr Egerton...Praise God. We are doing well under the Lords care .God has been faithful to us. He has given us good health. The kids are doing well. Last month Marube, Justine and Dominic were sick and this was due to heavy rain especially in Nyamira. I took them to hospital and now they are well and are in school. So I appreciate what Gary & Donna are doing to Justine, Adrian & Lorna to Dominic, Andrew & Ann to Marube, Sue & Paul to Janet and Asnet.
All the above sponsors together with you Dr Gilbert and Margaret have done great in the life of the Kids. Before you assisted they were in bad health, without clothes and shoes, and were sleeping without good blankets. But since the sponsor started sponsoring them, they have improved. Even the recent photos can tell. Winnie and I are working tirelessly to see that their Life is improving. Even though we have many needs in our Family, one day through your prayers God will meet them.
Those groups of 50 kids are meeting every Saturday. Kebaso and I are in charge. We hope and trust God to help them too.
Due to heavy rain in our country that makes our mud roads impassable, I praying God to open away to get A LAP TOP and A MODERM since nowadays we have electricity in Nyagware.
Please Dr. If you get one for this Nyagware Ministry, I will be grateful. God bless you all.
Let the sponsors get the report that they are doing a good work.

Dear Doctor Egerton....I have been going through your website and seeing what you are doing for the kingdom in Kenya and other parts of the world. May God bless you much even as you to continue to serve Him among those whom you serve. I would like to say thank you for the work you are doing in Matunda. Two children are being supported including the one who is able to complete her form four level next year because the Dorcas family is paying for her school fees. The other child has grown well since you started helping him after his mothers death. He is now three years praise the Lord. The three pastors are very happy for the bicycles you donated to them. They can now easily go to their ministries and back home.
May the Lord bless the Dorcas family.

Dorcas International New Year Greeting
Dear friends & prayer partners, my wife & I extend heartfelt greetings & best wishes to the entire Dorcas family & wide circle of faithful supporters for the New Year (2010) in the will of God. Perhaps this will be the year that will mark the Masters return. If not & we are spared, let us work with patience, love, faith, holiness & sacrifice for the glory of God only. We have a Kingdom to build which will last for eternity. We look ‘back’ with gratitude & praise. We look ‘forward’ with eagerness & expectancy. We look ‘up’ with joyful anticipation & excitement. He is coming soon! Sincere thanks to ALL who have stood with us, loved us, believed in our vision, prayed fervently, shared the financial challenges & partnered in this ministry. We have poured everything to the last ounce of resources, strength, zeal & determination. No reserve, no regrets, no retreat & no discharge in this spiritual battle. God bless you until you must pray for Him to stay his hand. We will celebrate the victory together. [Zeph 3:14-20]. Prayer letter & photographs will follow early January! Thank you for all your emails, cards & greetings etc.
Gilbert & Margaret Egerton
- The busy programme of ongoing deputation ministry. Details are enclosed with other meetings yet to be added.
- The URGENT need for the release of container number 5 which has been held up in Nairobi since June. It has medical supplies, 1000 pairs of kids shoes, office equipment for our new GOH centre & approx 9 ton of Gospel literature from Revival Movement Association in Belfast. We received a waiver of Taxation but approx £15,000 of storage charges have accrued. We need a miracle. God is able!
- The Garden of Hope Centre is unfinished. There is a shortfall of £10-15,000 to see this urgently needed facility for 150 kids completed.
- The Limavady team currently preparing for Kenya at the end of June. Numbers include students & professional people & will total approx 10. They are joining us both to ‘see & participate’.
- We plan to send another Container before we return to Africa comprising mainly Theological, Evangelistic & Educational materials also medical & humanitarian supplies. This will require £6,500 to achieve.
- Rev & Mrs Eric Stewart plan to join us for ministry in Ethiopia (March 1-21st). Ministry commences on 14th Feb for the Kalehewet Church Conference in Tarapeza / Sodo in South Ethiopia. This event will attract over 50,000 people & lasts for 4 days.
- Kenya needs a moral & spiritual revival which will restore the ‘fear of the Lord’ & result in holiness & integrity of life. Both the church & government is full of corruption, dishonesty & deception.
- The training & equipping of leaders at all levels of church life & ministry in Africa. This must remain our major focus.
- Victims of the ‘war of genocide’ in Rwanda. We visited Hope Village where over 400 are being cared for. They are very deeply scarred & struggle to come to terms with the horrors of the inhumanity perpetrated.
- Our health, wellbeing & safety as we commit to a demanding programme of ministry & travel often in dangerous areas.
- We need a stronger & more reliable vehicle for the ministry in Africa. We are currently seeking a replacement.
- Wisdom is needed to make the right connections & choices re leaders to associate with & right places to minister.
- Miraculous healing of Gladys (wife of Bishop John) from cancer. She is aged 28 & was given 6 months to live. No trace the disease remains.
- The donation of approx 15-20 tons of new Christian books to Africa from the Faith Mission. They are packed & ready for the container.
- Significent ministry in Rwanda, Uganda & Kenya during recent months. Many have found Christ, others restored, great numbers seeking holiness & power. Many young men have offered for the work of the ministry & numerous leaders / pastors who were ready to quit have had their call renewed.
- The successful transition to our new Dorcas Centre in Athi River…20 miles outside of Nairobi. God wrought miracles on our behalf for this to happen.
- Preservation from serious accidents which could have caused injury or death in recent months. We were driven of the road by an articulated lorry on Mombasa highway not long ago. It could have been fatal.
- Many new doors have opened to us including an invitation to assist the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya & help equip their pastors. They have 4000 churches & approx 1 million members.
- 4 Containers of humanitarian aid have been distributed to date in |Kenya, including tens of thousands of books, millions of gospel tracts & booklets, over 40 pastors & evangelists are supported & approx 70 kids sponsored.
- The word of God had deeply impacted congregations in the last 4 years exceeding 100,000 people & approx 15,000 people have responded publicly in these services, seminars & conferences.
- Maynard & Dorethy Love joined Dorcas in Nov as full-time UK & Ireland Representatives. God has sent them & we rejoice!
- The widows ‘pot of oil & ‘barrel of meal’ have never run done! We have lived by these principles & God has honoured the exercise of faith.

Appreciation for pastors Conference ministry
Dear Dr Egerton
Calvary greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hope and trust that God has blessing you and your family and entire Dorcas Ministry. Your Ministry has been a blessing to me and to the entire church. Here in Waithaka we are doing well the church is growing.
Dorcas Ministry has enriched many in Kenya and in the world and I pray that God to expand your territories in your mission work to many nations. As far as inspirational materials for libraries I appreciate so so much, they are very good and they have helped me and the church very much may God bless you. Your seminars have impacted me allot.
I have never liked to miss your seminars because your teachings are based on true concepts of the Word of God & the revelation of the Holy Spirit, Facts and real life experiences. Your pastors and leaders seminars in our FPFK churches and other places have helped me in the Ministry and personal life. You are a mentor to me.
I am aware of the coming seminar at Kawangware and I am determined to by the help of our almighty to be there.
Otherwise the work is good despite the challenges the one who called you is faithful to bring to accomplishment what He began in you and entire Dorcas ministry, don't fear take courage in God and trust only on the one who called you AMEN!!!
Pass our greetings to your wife and all the body of Christ. We love so much and we miss you in Waithaka Church there is allot of work to be done by us.Will organise for your humble invitation very soon. Thanks .
Yours in Lords Vineyard,
Pastor Eric Mutiso
Waithaka Free Pentecostal church.
Hope you are well and continuing to experience heavenly blessings in abundance. Thanks so much for your increased support. I thank God for His continued providence as I work with Dorcas Ministry.
Recently I began studies and research on the life and times of Martin Luther the Reformer in the early Centuries. I did this study and research feeling my need to improve myself as God's Servant & to be ready to reasonably defend the Gospel of truth in an improved manner.
I need to seek for the face of God yet the more. I need His Grace and care and direction. I do all this because I dont want to settle for less than God's best as in the Song don't settle for less than God's best says but believe for more.......!
As Gods servant I have found that more is demanded of me in this Ministry. I am ready to put in all my efforts and strength and all Academic knowledge. I am confident that God is pleased to have me working for Dorcas Ministry and that it is His will. I will not give up because the Bible says .....Dont throw away your confidence it will be richly rewarded.....Hebrews10;35.
Ezekiel the Prophet who spoke insistingly on 'Responsibility'. This applies well to our situation as God's workers. I am praying for more self-disciline and self --command in relation to God's work. I pray for other co-worker with Dorcas Ministry wherever they are.
Out here in the field there are challenges but God is helping me alot. If write about every encounter the letter will be so long.
Kibet whom I evangelised is steadily gaining stature in Christ and other three young men are also doing fine in the Lord. Sometimes I come across teachers and they ask for christian literature. That is why I have been asking you to supply christian materials.
God Bless all DORCAS MINISTRY FELLOW SERVANTS.
God Bless you Dr Egerton and your Family with health in all your endeavors
Hillary Kipmutai Ronoh.
Report from AGC / Dorcas Missionary
Hello brethern...greetings.
It is of utmost importance that we all know that Jesus is coming back to take up His holy church. This message has come so powerfully at this time as I prepare for special meetings on Holiness for all the churches in AGC Turkana Ministries in the next half of the year 2009 as from 26th June.
I find it a great emphasis that needs to be recaptured in the church of Christ and be made known so clearly until Jesus comes. This has consumed my heart so much that I pray that the Lord will touch your hearts to burn with holiness that all people will see in you is Jesus Himself. I believe that the Lord will enrich us in His likeness day by day.
Paul & Joyce Lokol
Thanks so much for your continual support and prayers. May the Holy God be with u.

Happy New Year brothers and Sisters, It is another year that the Lord has given us. We count it a privilege to be serving Jesus for the fourth year here. The month of December was busy with many opportunities to share the Gospel. We thank God for all the opportunities that He gave us. We had one encounter that we would like to share with you. This is about a little boy two months older than our son Roy. He is a son to an Imam. He is malnutritious and had malaria for a bout a week without treatment. We visited his sick mother after she send for Josphine to go and pray with her. The boy was so weak and dehydrated. We asked if he was taken to hospital and they told us he was taken four months ago. He was vomiting and was again suffering from diarrhea. We prayed for the child in the presence of the father and so many other people. We thank God that nothing happened after prayers. Everyone was silent. We brought some foods to the boy and we gave him. He didnʼt vomit though everyone thought he was going to. We took him to hospital the following day. Before we got to the home, we prayed and we were convinced to tell the parents to remove some of the charms that were tied on his neck. We asked some people to pray with us. When we got to the house, God gave us the courage to ask the parents to remove. We asked the father if he believes in one God which he answered that he did believe. Then we asked, why then do you mix him with other powers? Silently, he asked for a razor blade and he cut one. The second one was hard to be cut. We donʼt know who gave it and why. We again asked about one God and after a short time, he decided to cut it again. We then took the child to hospital and none of them was willing to go with us. We asked one of his cousins to go with us which she accepted. We stayed the whole day in hospital as he was being treated. The doctors were amazed at his condition. He stopped vomiting and started eating food. We also took some antibiotics to his mother and she also recovered after suffering from the traditional methods of treating boils. They were applying the wound between the nose and the mouth with sheep fat claiming to be medicine but made it worst. One day I visited the boy. I found his grandmother had taken him out. On my way back, I found them with other women. I decided to go and see him. I found one old woman was doing some witchcraft to the boy. They had some mixtures in a plate and she put closer to the boy so he could vomit. I stood and prayed and nothing happened. The boy refused them and he had to be taken away. I talked to many women about how what they were doing failed in Maasai. When I followed the grandmother with the boy, she was terrified but God gave me courage to talk to her even if she looked guilty. I told her about one loving God who answers prayers against witchcraft. She later told me that the other woman was telling her that the boy was going to die and has no other help. I told her to let God take care of the boy and she was very sorry. The boy is now recovering well and we thank God that the family has seen the power of God and they are now our friends. Pray with us that the boy will recover fully and the family will come to know and accept Jesus. We planed to take some ladies for discipleship out of this place. It was hard to tell their families and give a reason for going with them other than what we intent to do. One lady told her husband that she would like to visit Josphineʼs home. Because we are friends, he accepted and was ready to give her some money towards that. We told the parents of a young girl that we want to take her to school. They also accepted and were also ready to raise some money towards this. It was a great relieve to us when all allowed them to go. Before the traveling date, Josphine decided to take a prayer walk in the afternoon. She found two girls in the village. She shared the word of God with them. God made a way and one of them was called by her mother. One remained and praise God that it was her chance to accept Jesus. She came in the evening (when it was dark) and we prayed with her. What a joy! She is so open and so glad to have known Jesus. We prayed if it will be possible to go with her. We asked her and she accepted but we must get permission from the father. We have never seen him but he graciously allowed her to go. They got sufficient time in discipleship class and had a good Church experience. We are very grateful for all those who supported this. As a family, we thank God for protecting us and giving us good health. Roy wants to go to school and we still feel that he is very young but because he can speak fluently, he can start school. Josphine is also planning to start her Masters program. We need your prayers because we also have so much that is under us this year. God enabled us to take my nephew through secondary school and Josphine sister started college in Nairobi last year. We were paying for her rent and upkeep and we are grateful to God that He provided for every finances that we needed. This year, Josphineʼs brother is going to secondary school. Pray with us as we also see him through school. My brother was also giving her daughter off for marriage at the age of 15 just because she finished primary school. I went and took her after her father refused what I told him. They made everything ready but I sneaked her out. She is currently staying at a friends home as we look for a school for her. Our relationship with my brother is broken because he told me never to step at his home again. So many relationships are broken as a result. I do respect our culture but when it is evil, I have no option but to confront situations. Pray with us as we trust God for the mending of our relationships and more than all, that all who are involve may come to accept Jesus. Pray also that the girl will get school and all the needed finances. We acknowledge that we have a lot before us in family and ministry. Prof. Roy Lauter one time preached in a new years eve and said that he was going to get to the new year backward so he could see what the Lord has done to him in the past and from that he could trust the Lord to lead and direct his steps as he gets into the unknown. This is what we are telling the Lord to do to us. From what we have gone through, we can entrust Him with our future and He is going to lead us through. We are continuing to trust God on water connection. It has been challenging, time consuming but we are at a better step and we hope we will get it very soon. Pray for people here because most of the people donʼt have food. Usually we donʼt get enough rain for any food growing here. We totally depend on other parts of the country to supply food and they are also experiencing famine. Pray for the whole country. Let us all trust the Lord for new souls. Pray also that Bernard Ngeno will soon get enough support and join us here for youth ministry. We are blessed because you have been praying and supporting us. We are glad to invite you to continue praying and supporting us this year as we trust God for more. God bless you so much and keep you. In His Service, Benjamin, Josphine and Roy Kijabe |
Dear Dr. Egerton,
Good morning. Its my hope and prayer that all is well with you. We at GOH centre are well and doing exploits for the Lord. The phase 2 of the building project has gone very well other than the little delay that was caused early this week due to the logistical problems that were experienced in the trasfer of the 6,000 sterling pounds. The money finally came through. 60% of the work on phase 2 has been completed. The contractor hopes that by end of next week, the phase 2 will be complete subject to availability of sufficient funds.
The phase 2 of the project is estimated to cost 12,000 sterling pounds. As such more funds will be required this week. As of today, there was no building stones, ballast/agggreate, reinforcing bars etc on site as the contractor has been using the funds that are being availed by Rev. Kitui to clear outstanding debts that he incurrred with the suppliers lasdt week when the funds were held up in the transfer process. My prayer is that you will manage to fund raise more and send whatever will manage to raise ASAP. As i have always said, i do write this prayer of funds an act of faith you will send something more. Our expected completion date still stands at 15.02.09. The Lord will provide. Amen
I have sent you the photos of the Phase 2 todate. Sorry my mail last night failed to attach the photos which i have successfully done in this mail.
Please send my love to all our supporters.

Letter to the Executive Director of Dorcas International
re GOH Project.....
PURPOSE: To inform re progress & stimulate prayer & practical assistance where possible....
Please feel free to share with your prayer group or fellowship....Remembver it is to assist poor, destitute orphaned kids & their guardians. James 1:27.
Dear Dr. Egerton,
Happy new year. Am thankful to God when I look back to 2008 and reflect the many blessings that God ministered to the Garden of Hope Centre & its large family. Thanks so much to you, your dear wife and the entire Dorcas family for the support you have been able to raise. We are able to provide two meals a day to over 150 orphans and the very needy at least 6 days a week. Over 500 persons received free medical aid through the free medical camps that you organized through your network among other needs.
As we came to the close of the year, the most memorable thing we could wish for happened. We broke the ground for the contruction of a permenanet multipurpose facility incorporating new kitchen, diningroom, medical clinic, 2 small dorms, offices, shoewr & toilet block, administrators apartment etc.(110ft x 30ft) To us at the GOH , it looked a dream too far.
I wish to say thanks so much to you for mobilising the resources for the phase 1 of the project. The contractor has managed to successfully complete putting the foundation (pictures enclosed). It was put yesterday, the 31st Dec 2008. The building is now ready for phase 2 which is putting up the walls.
I wish to express my thanks to all the partners that gave sacrificially to this phase 1. Special thanks to AID-2-AFRICA who gave £5,000 pounds and also graced the ground breaking ceremony, Dessie Newell, Dawn Wilson and Kelly Colbert among others who also gave towards the purchase of the site & construction among others. Please forward this progress report to them & to all other intrested parties.
We urgently need finances for purchase of building stones / blocks, cement, sand and labour as per the bill of quantities. My prayer is that you (Dr Egerton) will manage to wire as much as you can by 5th January 2009 so that work continues without much delay.Sorry if am putting too much pressure on you. Am doing it by faith not knowing if you have any funds !
Today we managed to distribute your christmas gift of cooking flour to over 100 families. Each family received 5 kilograms of maize flour. This is a great sacrifice especially now that there is a lot of food scarcity in Kenya. Many poor families around the country are facing real hunger with the most vulnerable being children below the age 10 years. The majority of our beneficiaries in Gishagi area have no food. We are trying our best in the present circumstances to do what we can to help. We belief God will provide for the feeding program for the year 2009. It will cost us a minimum of £1000 ($2000) each month. We are appealing for more help....... If everyone did something it would make a huge difference. We promise strict accountability with every gift forwarded through your ministry.
Am attaching a few photos of the contrcuction and also some showing us distributing the maize flour today.
Let me sign off here. Samuel Kimore. (Chairman of the Board of Trustees)
